Changing your NY 529 College Savings Settings
Employee Self Service (ESS) enables employees to change their New York 529 College Savings deduction settings. Changes made to College Savings deduction settings may take up to two paychecks before becoming effective.
To change your College Savings settings
- From the navigation menu, click Employee Self Service, then click Payroll and Compensation, then click College Savings.
Your current College Savings information appears.
- Click the Change Account Info button.
A New College Savings Info box appears.
- Update all the fields you wish to change.
Important: The name that appears in the Account Name field must match the name on your bank/ financial Institution account. Additional names on the account are acceptable.
- Click the Submit Changes button.
A Confirm dialog box appears containing all the College Savings information and the Employee Authorization dialog box.
Read the new College Savings information to ensure that all information was entered correctly.
- In the Employee Authorization section, enter the last four digits of your Social Security number.
- In the Employee Authorization inner dialog box, click the Certify/Confirm button.
Your current and pending College Savings information will appear.
An email will be sent to you stating that a pending change has been applied to your College Savings information in ESS and that the change should be processed by the next business day but may take up to two paychecks to become effective.
