Accessing the Summary Program Description (SPD)

The Summary Program Description (SPD) provides employees with a summary of their benefits under the New York City Health Benefits Program. This information was developed to help employees understand their benefits and responsibilities under the New York City Health Benefits Program.

The SPD can be accessed via the Internet or the City's intranet.

To access the SPD

1. Select from below.
   
   
   • You will access the SPD via the City's intranet
     
     
     1. Visit the CityShare website at cityshare.nycnet.
        
        
     2. From the navigation menu, click Benefits & Payroll and then click Health Benefits Program.
        
        
     3. In the middle of the page, click the Health Benefits Program Summary Program Description link.
        
        The SPD opens. This can be downloaded and saved for future reference.
        
        
   • You will access the SPD via the Internet
     
     
     1. Visit the Office of Labor Relations website at www.nyc.gov/olr.
        
        
     2. From the navigation menu, click Health Benefits Program and then click Summary Program Description.
        
        The SPD opens. This can be downloaded and saved for future reference.
