Changing your pay stub printing status
Employees enrolled in direct deposit can view and update their pay stub printing status in Employee Self-Service (ESS) without contacting HR or payroll personnel. Employees can elect to receive a copy of their pay stubs by choosing Print or waive the option by choosing Don't Print.
Important: Changes to pay stub printing status will affect future pay stubs. Since pay stubs may be printed several days before distribution, a status change may not go into effect until the following pay period.
To change your stub printing status
- From the ESS navigation menu, do the following:
- Click the Employee Self-Service link.
- Click the Payroll and Compensation link.
- Click the Pay Stub Printing Status link.
A Pay Stub Printing Status page appears with your current pay stub printing settings.
- From the Pay Stub drop-down menu, choose the appropriate option.
If the Don't Print option is selected, you will continue to view your paystubs electronically on ESS.
If the Print option is selected, you will receive your paper paystubs in the manner that your agency delivers them.
- Click the Submit Changes button.
A Confirm dialog box appears containing your updated pay stub printing status.
- In the Terms and Conditions section, read the terms and conditions and check the Direct Deposit Terms and Conditions checkbox.
- In the Employee Authorization section, enter the last four digits of your Social Security number.
- Click the Certify/Confirm button.
An email will be sent to you stating that a pending change has been applied to your direct deposit information in ESS and that the change should be processed by the next business day but may take up to two paychecks to become effective.
