Suspending your Commuter Benefits payroll deductions

Follow these steps to suspend your payroll deductions for the Commuter Benefits Program.

To suspend your Commuter Benefits payroll deductions

  1. From the navigation menu, click Employee Self Service, then Payroll and Compensation, then Deduction Information, then click the Commuter Benefits link.

    The Commuter Benefits page with your current Commuter Benefits Info appears.

  2. Click the Suspend button.

    The Suspend Date and Resume Date fields appear.

  3. Enter a date into the Suspend Date field by clicking on the calendar icon and selecting a date. Enter a date into the Resume Date field by clicking on the calendar icon and selecting a date. Both fields must be populated.

    Note: Future suspension dates are allowed. The resumption date must be after the suspension date.

  4. The Confirm dialog box appears. Read the Employee Authorization and enter the last four digits of your Social Security Number. Click the Certify/Confirm button.

  5. Your current and pending changes are displayed for your review.

    Important: An email will be sent to you stating that your Commuter Benefits payroll deduction suspensions are pending and that it should be processed by the next business day. Updates may take up to two paychecks to take effect. Your Commuter Benefits homepage will display your suspension dates on the following day.

    Suspending your commuter benefits plan will also suspend an existing Park-n-Ride plan. You may not actively participate in a Park-n-Ride plan without participating in one of the three transit plans. You may, however, suspend only your Park-n-Ride deductions.

To suspend your Park-n-Ride payroll deductions only

You may suspend the Park-n-Ride plan from today’s date only. To suspend only your Park-n-Ride plan please perform the following steps:

  1. From the navigation menu, click Employee Self Service, then Payroll and Compensation, then Deduction Information, then click the Commuter Benefits link.

    The Commuter Benefits page appears.

  2. From your Commuter Benefits page, click the Change Comm Benft button. The New Commuter Benefits Info dialog box displays.

  3. Select your current Commuter Benefit Plan.

  4. Leave the Monthly Amount field blank. Your current Commuter Benefit Plan will carry forward.

  5. Change the Park-n-Ride Y/N field to Yes

  6. Enter 0 into the Monthly Park-n-Ride Amount field

  7. Click the Submit Changes button. A Confirm dialog box appears.

  8. Carefully read the information presented on this page. The New Commuter Benefits Info box will display the deductions to be submitted for processing.

  9. Read the Commuter Benefits Terms and Conditions and click the checkbox indicating you have done so.

  10. Please read the Employee Authorization information and enter the last four digits of your Social Security number.

  11. Click the Certify/Confirm button.

  12. Your pending Commuter Benefits Info dialog box appears with the pending information displayed.

To change your Resumption Date

You may decide at a later time to change the date for which you would like to resume your deductions

  1. From the navigation menu, click Employee Self Service, then Payroll and Compensation, then Deduction Information, then click the Commuter Benefits link.

    The Commuter Benefits page appears.

  2. From your Commuter Benefits page listing your suspended commuter benefit information, click on the Change Resumption Date button.

  3. Enter a new Resume Date.

  4. Click the Submit Changes button. A Confirm Dialog box appears.

  5. Read the Employee Authorization information and enter the last four digits of your Social Security number.

  6. Click the Certify/Confirm button.

  7. Your pending Commuter Benefits Info dialog box appears with the pending information displayed.
