Eligible dependents for health benefits
An employee can add a dependent to his or her health plan if the dependent is one of the following:
- Currently legally married to the employee. (This does not include ex-spouses.)
- Registered domestic partner at least 18 years of age, living with the employee.
- Unmarried child under the age of 19.
- Unmarried child between the ages of 19-23 who is a full time student at an accredited degree-granting institution.
- Disabled dependent child who is approved as such by the health plan.
